Millions of people are out of work. Thousands are unable to get elective surgeries. Many are struggling to remain positive as they sit in isolation waiting for the pandemic to end. And the only thing Planned Parenthood can think about is how supposedly unfair it is that women are not allowed to get non-essential abortions.
Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson lamented during a recent interview on Democracy Now that murdering unborn children will have to wait until the crisis subsides, which she believes is “really unconscionable.” In her view, terminating human life in the womb is always essential, and should never be restricted.
“Think about this: Women are the majority of healthcare workers,” Johnson stated. “We’re the majority of people homeschooling right now. We are the majority of essential workers. Our bodies have literally been deemed essential, and yet our bodies – the control of our bodies and the right to control our own bodies has not.”
Johnson believes that there is some kind of conspiracy at play to use the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as a cover “to restrict access to health care” for women who got pregnant against their wishes. And even though most other businesses and services must remain closed during this time, abortion clinics should be open, she believes, because women deserve it.
The closure of Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics across the country comes under the direction of U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which has advised health care facilities across America to reschedule all non-urgent appointments and elective procedures. This, they say, will help to limit the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).
Listen below to The Health Ranger Report as Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, talks about the various state and local plans to begin reopening and how these might play out in the coming days:
At the very least, Johnson contends, the government should allow so-called “webcam abortions” to take place because they do not use up any personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, and can be performed while still maintaining social distancing.
Webcam abortions, in case you are not familiar, involve telehealth checkups during which a pregnant woman who wants to murder her unborn child is instructed about how to take abortions pills to get the job done. Johnson believes that webcam abortions are “safe” and will not cause any strain on the health care system.
But many pro-life groups disagree, arguing that so-called “safe, home abortions” do, in fact, run the risk of imposing additional burdens on the health care system, which is what the government is trying to prevent.
“Elective abortion, both surgical and drug induced, also generates more patients to be seen in already overburdened emergency rooms,” says the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG).
“Most abortion providers instruct women to go to an emergency room if they have any concerning symptoms after the abortion. Approximately five percent of women who undergo medication abortions will require evaluation in an emergency room, most commonly for hemorrhage. Surgical abortions can also result in hemorrhage. Emergency room personnel – who are already struggling to meet the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic – will be further strained to provide care to these women.”
In order to keep the cashflow going, Planned Parenthood has reportedly launched telehealth services all across the country that allow women to terminate the lives of unborn babies from the comfort of their own homes. Many of these abortions are then billed to Medicaid.
